Corrosion resistance

In natural environmental media (water ,rural and urban atmosphere) 1.4303 has significant chlorine and salt concentrations. This quality is not resistant to sea water and must not be used for such applications as well. Just as 1.4306, this steel is not suitable for use in swimming pools or in their vicinity. The resistance to reducing acids is limited to low concentrations and temperatures.

Welding

  • weldable with or without filler metal
  • A heat treatment after welding is generally not necessary
  • The resulting tarnish reduces corrosion resistance and should be removed mechanic or chemical
